You and Your Mala: Carol Baxter
How did you choose your mala? Were you drawn to a particular energy or gemstone?
I am a big believer in energy healing and have always been drawn to crystals! Especially the amethyst. As soon as I saw the Tranquil Amethyst mala on the Mala Collective website I was instantly drawn to it.
I use amethyst in my own reiki healing sessions —the stone has been worn by healers throughout time as it has the power to focus energy.
I find holding the amethyst very calming and centring when I sit in meditation in the morning.
When did you start your yoga/meditation practice? What are some of the benefits you have received from your practice?
My yoga practice began 8 years ago — I have been teaching and working at my own studio for the past three years.
My yoga practice has been a constant evolution. It continues to open doors I never dreamed possible. Meditation, energy healing, proper nutrition and right energy focus have all been benefits of my journey into my practice.
What is your favorite way to take a moment for yourself each day?
My favorite way to take a moment each day is my current study of the Course of Miracles.
I have embarked on the lesson plan section of the workbook, which provides one lesson for each of the 365 days of the year.
Each morning I meditate on the lesson plan of the day and hold my mala beads, sealing my intention to be in 'spirit and breath' .
